Latium Land of Oil is a marketing campaign to promote and help develop an appreciation of the best extra virgin olive oils produced in the Latium region. Latium is the region where Rome is located, and where 4 PDO olive oils are produced: Sabina, Canino, Tuscia and Colline Pontine.
The campaign, cofinanced by Regione Lazio, Assessorato Sviluppo Economico Attività Produttive, is spearheaded by the Rieti Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with Unioncamere Lazio (a consortium of Chambers from the Latium region), as well as the Chambers of Commerce of Rome, Frosinone, Latina and Viterbo (all cities in the Latium Region). The scope of the campaign is to promote Latium extra virgin olive oil to American restaurant owners and clientele, food reporters and journalists, buyers and consumers, on how to purchase and better understand olive oil from this region. For this reason, we have organized a targeted promotional campaign to Italian restaurants in the city of Houston and set-up information stations and guided tastings with a selection of olive oils and other products made with olives, from the Latium region.
