The cooperative ‘’Oleificio Santa Barbara’’ was founded in 1953 by 12 passionate olive oil producers strongly linked to the territory of Scandriglia, and whose name “Santa Barbara” was tied to the country’s Patron, whose statue stands at the entrance of the cooperative’s mill.
Today the cooperative has grown considerably adding the participation of 200 new members, and the construction of a new 1,400 square meter facility set up with state of the art machinery, to improve and refine the olive oil production process. The olive oil marketed by the cooperative is made exclusively with locally grown olives by the cooperative owners in the territory of Scandriglia in the north-east area of Latium; the olive oil is characterized by a characteristic yellow gold color and has intense and harmonious flavor.
